My 9yo nephew is ate up with hunting The year before last at age 7, I took him turkey hunting during the spring youth season and he made his first kill on a dandy tom. Last year he got his first deer, a nice size doe at 150yds on one of my food plots. His dad called me Monday night with the news he'd smoked another deer. 175yds, 6mm Rem, right in the pumper!

Congrats to your nephew! I was considerably older than him before taking my first deer. But decided I wanted to deer hunt at age 5 when a neighbor got a deer and my dad and I walked over to congratulate him. I'll never forget that deer hanging from his tree with five and a half year old me standing there staring up in awe at the deer. Your nephew will never forget getting this one and you've probably became his favorite uncle if you weren't already.
