I did not officially read it but I heard on another forum that a guy called ODNR this morning and confirmed that the proposed changes to the deer hunting regs allowing rifles shooting some straight walled calibers passed last evening at the council meeting. It was expected to pass but sounds like good news for Ohio hunters.
Freaking finally!!!
Chit now I gotta buy another rifle lol
Might as well. SOuthern Wis was always shotgun or pistol. We went to rifle statewide last year and there were no more hunters hurt than any other year. Straight walled rifle opens up a lot of options but there will be no more injuries with all rifles.
There's a link here that takes you to the official poop:

PCR Comes to Ohio
An tentative congrats to Ohio hunters, hopefully it happens. We got jerked around quite a bit in the county I hunt the most before it finally passed.

I'm grateful we got the green light for any center-fire chambering with no straight walled pistol only stuff. Either way I'd have rolled with it just fine and happily.
What do you mean tenatively? These changes have been voted on by the Ohio Wildlife Council and passed as of last Wednseday. Its been adopted.
