I can't find any reviews. Vmax is usually for varmints, however at this velocity will it work for deer?
Can't say on the 110 Vmax, but have used a 125gr Nosler Ballistic Tip at Blackout-type speeds out of a Contender, and it worked fine
I read an old issue Guns & Ammo a while back and the author's son-in-law took a deer with the 110 V-Max. It was pretty short range IIRC, and was a little far back. I think the doe ran about 50 yards or so.
110 TTSX would be a better option
The 110gr V-Max out of the Blackout does fine. Depending on deer size and whether bone is hit they may or may not exit, but they wreck insides well.
David_Walter,

My son-in-law used that a couple years ago in a .308. He had complete pass throughs on two bucks. He didn't baby them since he ran than at 3,000 feet per second.

That bullet will definitely work if you push it hard.
id use 125 nbt
Loaded up some for a young man a few years ago...12 year old hunting for first time with grandpa.. ( Lord knows where dad was... gone for years)...he was using a 30/30...

one in the chamber and one in the mag only...

the load was 10 grains of Unique, 110 V Max...

took a blacktail at 100 yds, pretty much a bang/flop scenario..
I have killed an 8 point with a 300 Whisper and 110 gr VMax bullet. I am using 125 gr Btips and SST's now.
