Wow, his neck is plumb swolled up! You Indiana guys are cleaning up with the 358 WSSM!
Cool deer - well done! Congrats!
Nice Buck. Congrats
First X I've ever recovered...

Fair performance considering the rather moderate launch velocity.

Bruiser buck! The X obviously penciled through..

I have a dummy round for this if you wanna see what they look like.
[Linked Image]

From the left, 25 WSSM empty, formed 358 WSSM, 308 Win and 300 WSM

The 358 WSSM is formed by necking 243 or 25 WSSM up to 35 caliber. The load I use is a 200gr TTSX on top of 48gr of H4895 lit by a WLR primer. It clocks 2575fps out of the 22" barrel. I can get them to go faster but the above load averages under .75MOA out to 250yds.

The rifle is a Mark Penrod built Model 70 WSSM action with a Lilja No 5, 1-12 twist sitting in a B&C Coyote Lite stock. The scope is a Leupold VX-6 2-12X42 sitting in Talleys.

CR
Very nice deer. The round is a winner also.

Interesting. looks like it duplicates 358 Win in a wssm action.
It meets Indiana's [bleep] rifle cartridge laws. Otherwise I can't come up with a reason for doing one.

Hit the nail on the head. And looks like we won't need them next year...
What's the fix for next year? Any rifle cartridge?
nice looking buck sir.
Hmmm might be a nice powerful round for an AR15.

No min brass length, min caliber .243

Your 6x45 would be perfect here...
Good for them. I'm guessing there will be a bunch of 358WSSM's floating around after that.
Mine's already been traded...
That's a bruiser of a buck, congrats!

There's a min brass length (1.16") but not max brass length like there is now.

I wonder how many retards they had to hire to write the following:

"Rifle cartridges that fire a bullet at least .243 in diameter and have a minimum case length of 1.16 inches long can safely and humanely kill white-tailed deer."

That one is a doozy!

I know in my comments on the proposal I made sure to point out, that as written, the new rule would make a 223 shooting a 60gr Partition illegal, but a 300 RUM shooting a 110gr Vmax legal...

Didn't have to hire many, as they had to write it so even more could read it. and they typed slowly... grin
