Since I was part of the 24 HCF MRC 260 Rem buy I promised I was going to learn how to post pictures, hopefully to document the load development of the rifle. Well I have been dragging my feet until my grandson killed his first deer.
This was killed Saturday Oct. 31 in Franklin County Virginia.
His dad and myself are very proud of this buck!
That's quite a first deer. I bet he is still smiling. Congrats. Tom
Congrat's to the young hunter that's a very nice first deer!
There's only one problem, may be hard to best that.
Congrats all
Wow, what a first! Congrats to you both
There's only one problem, may be hard to best that.
Congrats all
Ya reckon???
Joking aside, that is a tremendous buck, and I'm glad to see a young hunter in the picture with it.
Family treasure, right there.
Congratulations, to the young man.

Wow! Awesome memory for everybody involved! And that deer is a TOAD!!!!!!!
Well, hellz yeah!!!!
Knuckle-bump to the lad! Great deer!
Good all the way around! He's officially ruined now.
I would estimate this deer to be close to 200# on the hoof, which is much larger than the average deer in our area and large than any deer I have taken.
His father said he was very calm during the whole thing until they got down from the stand and saw how big he actually was, then they both got excited.
When I got there and saw the deer on the ground I was shaking with excitement also and it has been many years since that has happened.
Like others here said, that is going to be very hard to ever top.
That's a great 1st deer, congrats to your grandson.
Congrats,
he'll be a hunter for life now!
Congrats! My son got his first this year too. There is nothing quite like the seeing them excited to get their first!

That is a great buck and a smile this is going to last a long time! Congratulations to all of you and best wishes for many more memorable hunts together!
That's a great VA buck! Awesome to be able to share your grandson's first. What a monster!
Congratulations! That is one heck of a way to start a deer hunting career.
Great memory for the whole family right there. That smile says it all. What an awesome buck!
We are not too far apart. I live in Henry county but used to hunt a small farm up in the Penhook area.
that is a great buck. franklin county has some great bucks. what part were you hunting. we used to near giles creek on smith mountain lake.
srwshooter,
Our lease is a little south of Glade Hill. We have taken some very good bucks off of this property but this one is one of the best, if not the best.
It is surely the largest body deer we have killed. We had a great mast crop last year and the year before and it helped both antler development and size.
Super buck!! Congrats to him.
Congratulations to all of you!
That should get the young man back in the deer woods.

Even the deer looks proud to be in the picture.
Campfire hug is in order. Well done.
Wow, nice buck, the smile says it all.
