Spent the day hunting my son't new bit of property. Swamp, clear cuts, mixed hard woods and planted pine. Spent the morning in a tree stand, and the late afternoon hunting the 350 yard clear cut.
Saw nothing but does, but it sure is nice to have prime hunting land in the family, and only 8 miles from the casa.

You have a the when is deer season over look on your face. Nice .270...

Doc
my last hunt this year. Season is over now. Dammit. shocked
It would be great to have hunting land in the family.
I have yet to have a 270 bounce off anything wink

Nice to have your own land.
my 270 bullets tend to bounce off trees after going thru game.
the rifle is a 1952 Mannlicher-Schoenauer, with a 2-7 Leupold. I don't take it out often, as most of the places I hunt has very heavy cover, and short distance shots. It will be fun to use it more often.
I'm happy you got to go hunting.

Nice gun too.
Welcome to the dark side! smile
I knew we had something in common.
I have killed lots of stuff with a 270 from red squirrels to elk. Nosler partitions in 130 or 150 grain are very effective from 20 out to 350+ yards.
Good for y'all, Sam! Congratulations!
.270 a favorite caliber!!

Gotta love a Mannlicher! I've got a Model 1903 in 6.5x54 MS. Great little rifles. Probably the smoothest bolt action that has ever been made. I don't take it afield as much as I should but my eyes are getting to the point that the open sights are getting hard to use.

Nice rifle Sam...
I killed a buck with my new Weatherby Vanguard S2 270 Win.

The Nosler 140 Accubond did an awesome job! The deer fell like he was hit by lightning.

I've never had any complaints with the 270 Win. I like the 270 Win. just fine.
