Am interested in recommendations of which kansas whitetail hunting units recommended for a non-resident rifle hunt and which ones to avoid. Also, is your recommendation based on experience in the last year or two. thank you.

I can not really recomend one unit over another as I'm not familiar with the units outside of the area that I live in. The main problem for out of state hunters is the lack of public ground. Most of KS is private property. After the state decided to start selling the hunting via outfitters most of the better ground gets leased and not available without the use of outfitters or hunting clubs etc..
Your best bet would probably be finding maps that shows walk in hunting and what little public hunting ground there is. For the most part the better white tail hunting is in the eastern half of the state. Sorry I'm not a lot of help on this....
