Guys I'm going with have seen a few in the past, no kills yet.
West/north of the San Francisco river.
Anyone hunt these little guys around there, and can give me some pointers ?
Had the Burro Mountain tag 5 years ago. Tommy Maldonado does a scouting package for each of the 23 hunts.
Some general info that might be helpful in any Coues unit is I tried to get some elevation to glass as sun rose, even if was only a small mound that was 20 or 50 feet tall. My tag was late November and movement seemed to be the first hour and last hour of the day.
I have hunted Coues over in AZ and there vegetation seems to be key to figuring out where to start glassing. Ocotillo cactus seems to be one of the things they are near. Stream draws, even when dry, are often a transit path.

The only area i know of is around the San Francisco canyon. Hunt the north side or the south side of it and stick to it. If you want to go from the south side to the north side it, no sh*t, takes 3 hours.
There seemed to be significantly less presure on the north side, but dragging a 5th wheel back into that spot would suck.
I hunted it last year and only saw about 6 does.
No 5th wheel. Maybe my bumper pull. Depending on weather, just a big tent, a good tarp over it, and an air bed!
Been talking to the guy I'm going with, and going over Google earth.
Guess we'll see what happens.
Google Earth makes it out like it just barren ground with juniper scattered about.

I'm going to start Google Earth scouting with a fine tooth comb in the areas my buddy has talked about.
There are lots of tanks marked, so that'll help.
My printer is gonna start earning it's keep.
Anyone ever seen deer or elk on Google Earth?
