Hunted around Big Timber and passed quite a few bucks. I saw one really nice buck about a 1/2 mile away and could not find him. It was blowing 40 mph that day. Could not find one I liked so ended taking this typical Montana buck last day.

I didn't know deer season opened this early. You should come back to stupid Wisconsin where you hunt 10 yrs before you see a decent buck, , , , on public land up north where you came from.

Rifle doesn't open for another 2 months.

last year's 2016 buck. The area does not have great genetics/minerals as most of the racks dont have much mass. Made a quick clean kill, saw lots of bucks antelope every day met some really nice folks . Hunt can't be much better than that imo

I grew up in Wi and would go back every November to archery hunt the Nov rut. I stopped going about 10 years ago because the deer number dropped so much. Shame what the wolves did there. DNR really screwed up. Some of my friends just stopped deer huntingin WI.

Used to be fantastic hunting in the 70's 80's and 90's.

I remember yu wain you grew up in WIs. That is why I said that. You did well getting out of Wis. I would love just see one per outing.
