Author is Duncan Dobie, it is a picture book.

I was surprised how popular Remington 8s and Winchester 1907s were back then.
Sounds like a nice book. I love vintage hunting photos.

Well, this book would interest you. Have you ever seen a Remington 8 with a long tube scope that ended half way down the barrel?
I just thought I'd give this topic a bump. Honorable #1 son gifted me a copy. Great book!

I have been enamoured with old pictures of deer hunting for quite some time, ever since we got the farm. Back then, I had all these bare walls to cover, and not a whole lot of budget. I went online and downloaded every old hunting photo I could find and put them in cheap frames. My surmise was that over time, our pictures of actual hunts would slowly replace the old stuff. Quite a few of the pictures in this book happen to be on my walls. This book tells the story behind them.
thanks for the heads up. just ordered a copy from Amazon
I like history and this book is a favorite, got one when I first saw it came out advertised in a hunting mag. Connects us to our past.

Ditto...
One of the things I noticed was a lot of stereographs in the book, especially in the early chapters.

I found this on EBAY

It really makes those old photos pop!
