I recently got a good deal on some Hornady 200 Gr. XTP's. I want to try them in my 1971 vintage saddle ring M1894. Anyone use these on deer at 100 yds. or less? My load of 22 gr. of #2400 gives me some pretty good groups using just the barrel sights. I may get a receiver sight.
Would appreciate your experience(s) as to range and terminal performance of this bullet.
Also, does anyone have the receiver sight that fits on top of the receiver? Comments? Brand(Williams)?

I am hoping you get some replies, I have the same question.
I picked up a truckload of 200 gr. Noslers a few years ago. Ive killed some hogs,a deer or 2, and a coyote or 3. As for performance, they did well. Range hasn't been more than 60 or so yds. Im usually a 240 gr XTP guy, but couldnt pass the deal. Im glad i didnt because they perform very similar to the 240.

I'm a 240 gr. XTP guy also; but, I like to try different stuff
every now and then. One guy on this thread mentioned using the
200 grainers with a .444!!! I'll bet those really 'pancaked' out.

I have 100 180XTPs to load up. Havent tried anything but 240s.
I've been told that the 180s are too light for the 44 rifles.
Not sure if they meant accuracy or performance.
