I figured this might be a good place to ask around about a rifle I took on a trade. It's a late 1970's 444 that has JM stamped barrel. Has a fixed 2-1/2 redfield matching vintage scope. Maybe that be an 1980's scope actually. Blueing is almost perfect. 95% plus and wood is the he same. It's not a brand new gun but is extremely well taken care of. Only
Mod I can see is a hammer extension for Use with scope. Very nice rifle. I can't get pics to work but can text them if needed later today. I know I wont not get an exact number without pics just looking for ballpark or ideas on where to go from here. Also can PM if interested. Thanks in advance
Around here you could expect to pay around 550 without the scope.
Also, the hammer extension is not a mod. They came with the extension from the factory to be installed if desired when one mounted a scope.
Ok thank you. Good to know on the hammer extension.

That Marlin..late 70's 444....equal very desirable rifle......

to those in the Marlin world......

sounds like a 444-S w/22" barrel.....curved grip....

take a peek on GunBroker for $$ ideas only..
