I 've been looking for a canidate for my 356win. conversion...and I found it a NIB 336 30-30, it has checkered hardwood stocks.I looked for several good used 30-30's but around here there pricey..so I added a bit of cash and got a new gun. A fellow traded it in at a local gunshop NIB on a Ruger 77 270 win. and I got it for $270.00. Well its in layaway.
So it'll be off to vist Jes in a week or two.

Let us know how it turns out. I've been real happy with the one he did for me (30-30 to .375) and I'm probably going to get a .356 done soon.

Weagle i picked up the gun today ,I was wondering if Jes could alter my ejector where 308 or 358 brass could be used ,My 94 BB in 356 digested 308 brass just fine but I'm not sure bout the 336.

I don't think the bolt face and extractor present a problem as the extractor just snaps over the rim of either case, but the cartridge stop in the mag tube is where I have heard of problems. I have no experience though, just reporting what i've heard. 260remguy has owned more conversions than anyone I know of. He might chime in.

My 2 Nonneman 356 conversions and the stainless 356 that Bearrr264 built for me will all handle rimmed or rimless cases without any problem, as long as the OAL is kept at 356 specs. The ejector and extractors work equally well for rimmed or rimless cases.

Thanks guys ,I just didn't know if the 336 would digest like the 94 BB I had ...

I have a good donor for such a project, if anybody is looking. A 336A in .35 with 24" brl. Needs reblue, stock is nothing great. Shoots very well after one fouling shot, due to one rough spot in the bore. Trigger very good. Need $200 plus shipping. PM please.

Is it drilled & tapped for scope? Do you know the year?
