I need to replace a butt plate on this rifle. Did they ever come with a steel butt plate? And where can buy one? Plastic or steel if they are available?

I've got a 336 plastic endplate but not sure if it would fit. I'll take some measurements and let uou know what they are. I'm new here and I will "attempt" to put up a pic.

You can call Marlin and buy them but you can't get the white spacer from them anymore. They come oversized and you have to work them down to fit...

It's not what you asked but I put a 1/2" thick brown rubber butt plate, Pachmeyer, with a black base and no white line on mine. Love it, the brown color really looks good on that walnut stock.
