Anyone have contact info on a good Marlin Gunsmith. I am not looking to customize my 336 , I just want someone tear it down to clean and replace what needs to be replaced.

Jeff Johannsen, J & J Gunshop, 235 Burrows RD, Unadilla, NY 13849 PHONE: 607-988-9897.
I found him from the guys at the Marlin Forum. He refurbishes old Marlins and sells them on gunbroker.

Marlins are fairly simple, and can easily done by the owner.

When I tried my 1st one, I went slow while taking it apart, removing one screw at a time & placing it on a sketch of the rifle, for later replacement.

Actually, after the buttstock is removed via the tang screw, and the bolt pulled via removing the lever pivot screw, almost every part of the gun is easily cleaned.

I have Regan Nonneman do all my Marlin lever gun work. I can't think of a better qualified gunsmith in America.
