I have had a 336 sitting in the safe for awhile, headed to Texas to go hog hunting in a few weeks and want to use my good ol 30-30. Do you have any suggestions for a scope that goes good with a 30-30? Thanks in advance
Leupold VX-1 Shotgun 2-7x33 w/Heavy Duplex parallax set at 75yds. Or a VX-II 2-7x33 w/#4 reticle. Have one each on a Ruger .44 Carbine and a Marlin 336 .35 Rem. respectively. Both good short range guns like your 30-30. Really any GOOD 2-7x or even a 1-4x or 1.5-5x would be more than adequate. Emphasis on GOOD. You might start with something like the Redfield Revolution 2-7.
bushnell banner 1.5-4.5x32 fits them marlins nice. my favorite though is the nikon monarch 1.4.5-4.5x20 but they quit making them and they are getting tough to find.
