Guys I just traded for a Marlin 336 RC and it is different from the one I have had before. This one has a straight grip, no checkering and according to the letter prefix W was made in 1963. It is a 35 Remington 20 inch barrel and it came with the original three boxes of ammo bought with it.. One was empty and one has 10 rounds fired from it. It is in like new condition and the man said his dad bought it and then placed it in the closet and he just found it after his dad had died.. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks DRBOB

Great deer rifle and in my opinion better than the pre 64 model 94. Congrats.

You have a fairly rare Marlin Texan in 35 Remington. 1963 is in the date range when they made then with very nice trim stocks. With a vintage Lyman or Williams receiver sight and Redfield Sourdough front sight you would have just about the perfect woods walking rifle for deer and hogs.
