OK guys, Anybody know where I can buy a barrel in 358 for a 336 Marlin ? I would like to try this project. Ken
A Marlin barrel chambered in 35 Remington can be rechambered to 356 or 358. I don't know if any 'smiths do the 35 to 358 job, but Regan Nonneman does the 35 to 356 job for around $100 plus s/h/i. Once your Marlin 336 is chambered in 356, you can use 358 cases in it as long as you load to 356 OAL specs. I have used 358 cases in my Nonneman converted 356s, but only to prove that it could be done.

+1 as per 260Remguy. This link should help some. The gunsmith is in South Carolina. The article appears to be a few years old.

I've read that article, but can't see how not removing the barrel to do a rechamber job is a sign of good gunsmithing. I can vouch for Nonneman's work, 1st class and reasonably priced.
