Seems like a good price. 444 are getting scarce in my part of the woods. People that own them love them. Great round, will take care of anything in north america, with proper bullet. For deer and hogs 265 grain is my go to with benchmark powder. My 444 has a home for my lifetime.
So I go back to LGS and it's now marked $429.99. I talk to owner and he says he can do $400 plus tax which puts it at $439 out the door. Sooo it's now at my house undergoing my usual 'new to me' rifle cleaning. Minor bluing loss on top of barrel is only issue I find.
That would be a very good price around here. Prices have gone though the roof for 444s since Ohio made straight wall cartridges legal for deer in rifles.
