I have a browning 53 in .32-20 that I bought that came with some reloaded ammo. As a rule I don't shoot someone else's reloads that I don't know anything about. They where marked N110 10.2 gr, 85gr Hornady bullet in starline brass @1800 fps. The 10.2 gr powder charge peaked my curiosity, not 10.0 or 10.5, but 10.2. I can't find this powder listed in any of my manuals for the .32-20. I shot them and they shot extremely accurate at 1750 fps. I forgot to mention that I had several pieces of brass that had been shot thru the gun with this load and they all looked fine with no signs of over pressure. Does anybody have any printed load information for the .32-20 with Vit. N 110 powder? I just wondered before I tried to hunt up a lb. of powder. All powder very scarce in my neck of the woods, and I hate the online Hazmat Fee for just one can of powder. Thanks, Chuck.
If it shoots good you just the same as developed data. Providing they are safe and accurate..go for it..
Look at the Marlin owners forum there are a bunch of 32-20 and 25-20 shooters ...

I would have to pull a bullet and weigh that powder.

VV doesn't list data for the .32-20, but they do for the .357 mag., which has virtually identical case capacity. A .357 with the 110 gr XTP uses 18.5 to 20.8 of VV N110, with a 7" bbl. With that info, I would not feel trustful of the info written on the box - It just shouldn't feel right that the rifle would shoot that hard with that load.

Is the charge really 10.2 gr., and is the powder really N110?

That velocity with the bullet/charge combo does not seem right? The Browning M53, I have one, will handle the level three loads in the attached.

EdM, appreciate the link. Alot of good information there. Thanks, Chuck
Could that "N110" really mean "H110"? That would be Hodgdon powder, which can be used in 32-20.
