I have a Marlin 39 century LTD. My dad gave it to me, he has had it as long as I can remember. Few questions. Was it only made one year(century ltd)? is it just a 39? or 39M?...39A? Were a lot made in this configuration? Anythikng else you can tell me about it? It has an Octogan barrel on it.

From the Brophy book, made only in 1970 with 34,000 made. He lists it as a 39CL. Obviously, not a limited production rifle despite the name, but a nice looking rifle nonetheless.

Mine was made in 1971.Serial # 29xxx.
