I got this 9422 Yellow Boy from an estate sale. First one I have seen. It is NIB with books and other paper work with it. A little flashy but nice.
are those gold-plated or brass?
huntsman22,
They are brass plated over steel receiver. I can't find out much about them. Supposed to be 1 of 500. Seen some crazy prices on auction for them. I may sell it soon as I have 15 39A Marlins and don't have time to shoot them. Some belong to my wife so I should say "we" have 15 39A Marlins.
sounds to me like you need to make some time....
very nice, I like it.
I was not aware that this Model was ever offered.
I had one of the Yellow boys. Very little info. Winchester doesn't even know they made them. Cannot find them in the Blue Book. The one I had , had the plainest piece of wood of all the 9422's I own. Too gaudy for me I spun it off.
Must have been a Special run for some Jobber like Lipsey's or some other distributor
if you decide to sell it, let me know, have a friend who has long been looking for one.
thanks

I sold it on Saturday to a Pa. dealer who collects them. Just a little to flashy for me. Was even brighter than a Golden boy Henry. Much nicer gun than the Henry. I should have kept the case colored one I had before I bought this one. Did good on selling this one.
My oldest boy has one in the 9422M.
Nice little rifle.
