3 friends from the west side of the state stopped in to do a little bird hunting this morning. Walked out of my yard and had our limits within an hour. Some outstanding dog work and good times had.

Pointing lab?

Look forward to meeting up with you for some bird hunting. He is most definitely NOT a pointing lab!!! smile Not a fan here of labs that point. I like setters, griffs, GWP, GSP, etc., etc., that point, because that's what the breed is supposed to do. Two of the guys that were hunting had pointing dogs with today. Only a couple of birds held for a point out of all of the birds that we saw (100's). I have to admit that I really liked the GWP that one of the guys had. Gorgeous dog, and impeccable training, just didn't really get to show his stuff with the flighty late season birds.

Got to love hunting in the fluffy white stuff

Hunted the Kansas opener and I don't think we saw a dozen birds total. Need some of that white stuff on the ground to start the plant and bug population for the spring.
