Fianc� and I got out this morning with the dogs to do alittle bird hunting. Didn't get to go long but had some success. Bird population around here is looking really good this year. Sorry for the tailgate picture.

Im old enough to have gotten the free old guy bird license this year. Ill have to go look up some mountain grouse.

Great way to start the season, Laker... We were out for forest grouse this am.. Zero.. Looks like another poor season.. Did hear a couple shots though..

I did some mountain grouse hunting yesterday in 392. I use it as an opportunity to scout, and to get into better shape for the main event. There do seem to be plentiful grouse, and it was easy to get five between two of us, even with some lackluster shooting. It's the only time I carry a shotgun anymore, so I don't expect to shoot well. Fun morning though, for the hunters and the pups.
