What is a good bird to start your lab puppy on? Are chukars a good choice?
There'll probably be some different opinions on this but IMO it depends on how many months along the puppy is and the puppy's confidence level. I wouldn't start any bigger than a chukar and have started mine on pigeons. Once they've done a few of those they've have had no problem with chukars.
