How good has the hunting in Idaho been this year?

specifically for

doves?

pheasants?

valley quail?

and forest grouse? (blues and ruffs in particular)

valley quail? Don't know what a Valley Quail is but California Quail are about average....fair

and forest grouse? (blues and ruffs in particular) The fires shut down allot of the prime areas but the places I could get to were very good.

The above is in regards to North Central ID....can't speak for the rest of the state.
From the few trips I've made to E WA, I'd say its an above average year. Lots of pheasant and quail at the places I've been around the Palouse. Not Idaho, but pretty close to the border.
StubbleDuck: I live not far from Idaho and Hunt even closer to you's.
I do know this for sure, I have seen MORE Hungarian Partridge this summer and fall than I have ever seen before!
I mean LOTS of them.
No Quail in my high valleys.
Pheasants are about average and forest Grouse are plentiful/same as in prior years.
