Great photos!!! Never owned a 16 ga. It was my first choice when I was about 12, but it never happened..

What's the Parker Battue?
Posted By: battue Re: 2016 gauge - 01/22/16
There are two:

One was my fathers VHE 16ga. And by the way a 3inch 16ga. Have some old Peters 3in to go along with it; used to have the Parker hang tag to also verify, but it finally disintegrated. Miller SST trigger, which beats most rifle triggers.

The other is a Parker Reproduction two barrel set. 20g and a 16Ga on the 20Ga frame.

battue, I read of those 3" 16's in Major Askins shotgun book.. Never saw one, or even a shell.. That is a rare find!!!!
Posted By: battue Re: 2016 gauge - 01/22/16
Checked with the Parker Collectors Association and they said while not common it doesn't add all much value on a VHE.

Regular 2 3/4in 16Ga and the 3in.

Thanks for the photo.. Say my old college room mate was just out for an elk hunt.. He lives in Forest Hills.. Take care looks like winter is headed east!!!

Within 10miles.

Coming down fairly good when I came back from running the Dogs, but has let up now. We may get a couple inches here and dodge what is going on further East.

Are the older sxs's 2 1/2"?
Posted By: GF1 Re: 2016 gauge - 01/23/16
Here's a F.lli Piotti BSEE Lusso, 16 of course. When the prices rose beyond what I could stand, I sold it. I often wish I had it back...

Great pics Safari! What does the über cool drilling weigh?
Posted By: luv2safari Re: 2016 gauge - 01/24/16
The three in the photos weigh just under 7 pounds each. Depending on the models and wood density, they vary a bit. The 16 & 8X57JRS is the lightest at 6 3/4 pounds.

I am drooling over all the other fine guns in this thread. laugh
