Plan on hunting Montana and Dakotas again this year.
Probably do Montana in Sept and Sd and ND in Nov
Pluse local quail, grouse Huns chukar
Montana for 2 weeks
Here in Wi for the rest of the season.
My pup will be 1 in Oct. As such, I would really like to take him somewhere this fall (Oct/Nov) for some mixed species wild birds, but just haven't decided where. I won't have a lot of time (4-6 days total; with 2+ being travel) and on a shoestring budget. Depending on big game draws, a pard and his family may be heading to ND. If they do I'll probably try to join them. Other than that, I'm still in the looking phase.
Be in E MT towards end of Sept if anyone wants to join me
Mostly sharp tails
If I don't draw my pronghorn tags I may try to meet you there...
Mountain grouse til it cools off on the prairie. Probably make it out east 2 or 3 times this year.
More if work cooperates...
Huns in mid Sept, Sharpies through Oct plus Spruce and Ruffies for a day while on our moose hunt in the Alberta Rockies.
Pheasant opens mid Oct and runs through end of Nov. I plan on getting a bunch of bird hunting in this year, esp if I fill my moose tag early.
I'll be in Missouri when our seasons open 1 Sept in Alberta.
October in Maine for grouse.
Sharptails and Huns locally all October. I usually get in 20+ mornings as I can be hunting 20 minutes from my house. Pheasants all of November in South Dakota.
