Gary I did the same with my Brittanys first Ruffed Grouse. For the rest of her entire life you could ask her about the bird and she would proudly run over to the fan and point it out to you

If you haven't already you'll end up bird hunting as much or more to watch the dog than shoot.

That's funny stuff man. I've got a little Brittany pup now. He just turned 4months old and is really learning to use that nose of his.


43, there aren't many grouse left in KY anyway. For me it's always been about the dog. I've had an obsession with this bird since my childhood just never did really hunt them. But they always made me smile when I flushed them.

But as a Muskie fisherman, sucky predator caller and grouse hunter, one could say I'm
a glutton for punishment. If I don't have to work for it, I don't wanna participate.
