I use a push through swaging die now and it works quite well. The Meacham adds a luber. If they were available in custom sizes, they would work just dandy for both GG AND pp slugs. One could have pp slugs all exactly the same O.D. Not bad.

You can do that today with a $30 Lee die.

Yep. That is what I use for my 45. However,Lee does NOT make one for the 44/90 range of bullet diameters.

They make them an any diameter you ask for in 0.001" increments.

I should add, that Fred Cornell will make them too (and just a little better also).

Plus, I think a person with moderate machining capabilities could make one for you also. I may be wrong about that - I don't have moderate machining capabilities so I might be talking over my head on that one but how challenging can it be?

Take this FWIW, based only on a sample of one, a single example:

I bought a Meacham bushing die for my BPCRs. I was not impressed with its machining or finish. The external 7/8x14 threads were rough and one of the bushings had a burr in it that scratched the case necks.
I expected better in a small production product at that price point.

Edited to add: I make no claim to being more than a hacker machinist myself, but I know that cutting clean, well-fitting threads isn't in the league with creating parts for an artifical heart or space vehicle. I've seen one-off creations by machinists and gunsmiths, including some here, that are works of art, and most of the mass produced loading dies, etc. are pretty decent and good values. I don't know why some of the smaller, semi-custom shops can't do as well.

I have an older RCBS Lubrisizer but the Meacham idea intrigued me as it seemed to place less stress on the projectile, much like the Lee sizer does.

I'm still going to stick with my RCBS gear for now. I just need the proper sizing dies and top punches and I'm on my way.
