Ya should of said for the new guys.

I'm happy with my one and only Sharps. (At this time)

The way those are set up, any one of the four would make a hunting rifle for a lifetime. Any body that is thinking about getting a Shiloh needs to grab one of these. They will not be there long.

Not at the moment, but if I ever visit their shop it will be an expensive stop if there's stock on hand.

One of them has gone away. Someone on here buy it and want to spill the beans?

They had one set up like the #3 Sporter w/ the hvy 30" bbl 4 years ago (45-90 rather than 45-70, though) that ended up in my hands - already had a Hartford in 45-70. Both are of unquestionable quality and are the show-pieces in my safe.

Can't go wrong with a rifle from Shiloh, any of the three left on their website would be a joy to own . . .

Woody . . . when did you get #2 ???

Should have been more specific Nick I was referring to my '86 Win in 45/90 not another Big Timber rifle although that #3 was a killer to look upon. grin

I've been quietly rebuilding an original Bridgeport, one that was probably put together right at the end of Sharp's as an entity. The original "Core" unit supplemented with parts and pieces scrounged over the last 40 years or so. Like a NOS Carbine straight grip stock with "Handling Marks,"...and an NOS carbine lever, to replace the busted original. These were bought from Numrich, ...back when.

I nonetheless needed a CRAPLOAD of other parts to get this project gun up and running, and chose Shilo as the source.
For EXACT replica parts, I doubt you are going to EVER get any closer than what they produce.

It's a pretty awe inspiring evolution to take a brand new part and drop it into an original, and have it FIT....particularly lock parts.
Their Screws are DEAD NUTS.

Having an intelligent afficianado to discuss parts and pieces with is a treat , too. I'll tell you from personal experience you will NOT get this from Cherry's,...

Thanks Shilo, all of you,......and in particular the patient and gracious Brooke, who handled the bulk of a series of orders !

As far as this old Bridgeport goes, it's about ready to shoot.

Maybe the owner of the old pelter will let me put up an article / photos here,...I'll have to ask him.

I was walking around the Dallas Safari Club show in early 2014, and was wearing a Shiloh t-shirt, which proved a conversation starter at a couple of places. I wandered past the booth of Martini Gunmakers, and Ralf Martini was there. He took a look at the Shiloh t-shirt and struck up a conversation with me, commenting on how impressed he was by the Shilohs he had seen. His guns are best quality in every sense of the word, and that's a pretty good compliment.

As Sharpsguy said, they will not last long. 3 of 4 sold.
Any of you guys get one of those?

I know it wasnt Postoak. But I heard tell his wife was making some noise about how "nice" his new one looked!!! wink . Wonder how long it will be before she has one? I think I sent him pics of that "Boss Lady" model someone makes. laugh

Yes she hunts when she ain't corraling youngens! And she's a pretty good shot with a rifle!

Noticed Shiloh only had one rifle left this morning.

The Ms. Would like a sharps. She said lady boss was too pretty. She is interested in something similar to the one I have. She also said 26 inch barrel would be her option. She has hinted she wants to use my Sharps for deer hunting this fall!

Patrick, if and when I buy another I think it will be a 45/90. With a tang and hooded site just for the fun of it.
Posted By: tex_n_cal Re: Sharps - 11/06/15
well, I have two of those. The next BPCR will probably be a .38-55, or a .40-65. I did bump into an original .38-56 High Wall.
