I have abuddy who has 1997 F150 witha 4.6 V-8 and 4x4. It has 78,000 miles on it! Anything I should know about this truck? Any ideas what this should be worth?
I have a 2001 F150 4X4 with the 5.4. My buddy bought a 97 when they first came out. It was a good pick-up.
The only downside was the 4.6-lacking pulling power.
I've got a '97 f150 with about 130K on it and it runs like a champ. It's been a very good truck for me. If it's a super cab with any extras it should be worth around 9K with those low miles on it. I never pulled or pushed anything with mine so don't know if it would be underpowered for that application. I'm sure it would do most folks boat or camper fine but might struggle with loaded livestock trailer or a blade in heavy snow.
We have one, a stepside three door. I bought it with 20K onit, my oldest daughter bought it from me with 80K on it, and last month my youngest daughter bought it from her with 115K on it.
It has been a very good truck, nothing but regular maintenance required. I towed a 25 foot livestock trailer with it. I did trade up for a diesel F-250 when I got a bigger livestock trailer and a bigger camping trailer.
I too would have looked up the value on the Kelly site.
