Here is the site to find info on US toy landcruisers:

For toy truck info:

I know what folks call toy trucks around the world differs, as well as what models that have been offered.

The hi-lux, ie 4 door truck with short bed was never offered in teh states. The standard truck with extra cab, ie bench seat front, two jump seats rear and 2 doors has always been offered in the states, in fact that's what I drive, last year made was '93, after that they came out with the Tacoma.

What we call a landcruiser isn't a truck at all but rather what is now termed a sport utility vehicle, though not the 4-runner. The US landcruiser started out as something that looked like a Jeep, but then started to morph into something like a Suburban.

sounds like you have what we would call a hi lux space cab or xtra cab, should be a 4 cyl petrol/deisel motor. The one I am talking about would have a 6 cyl petrol/deisel and look like a big suburban ute with the space cab, am I on the right track here, should have coil springs all around, in the station wagon over here it was called the 80 series, if you could nail down the model for me and give me an idea of price with good body motor & drive not important that would help
thanks john

458, actually the Tacoma made its debut in 1995.5
Model years really screw me up, we got our truck in 94, and it was a 93 model year, the last year they made the old style truck. They had Tacos on the lott in 94, though I guess they were a 95 1/2?

Anyhoo,

Johno, sounds like you are looking for the landcruiser here is the ultimate forum for info on them http://forum.ih8mud.com/forumdisplay.php?s=6f1e2cc363279870665d3be84502c626&f=9

Here's a pic

In the us they first had an inline 6, and then I believe they went to a V-8, both petrol burners. I don't believe the diesels were ever imported. Used they run around $7-12,000 depeding on condition and mileage. I don't believe a pickup version of this frame was ever offered in the states, only the suburban body style. Hope this helps, I'm far from an expert on these rigs.

You could also post some questions to the forum I linked, those folks will be able to tell you what has been offered in the states.

"The standard truck with extra cab, ie bench seat front, two jump seats rear and 2 doors has always been offered in the states," --Correction!!-- Not all extra cabs had the rear seats. The early ones only had a 9" shelf behind the seat for storage. The rear windows were narrower also. My 87 was like that. It was the reason i bought it. I didn't like the real long extended cab on the S10 s. Once a Toyota fan always . i had that one for over 15 yrs. and never had it in the shop for a tune up,never had the dist'cap off untill a few month before I upgraded to the lesser truck-97 Tacoma. I love my Taco, but the older trucks were tougher. Finally got the wife switched ,shes running a Rav 4 now. They are like the energizer bunny-Keep going & going --Jim--
