Just looking for any info I can get. Rifle racks, crash bars, skid plates, upgrades or any other info. I just picked up a 2013 and I'm looking to learn all I can about the bike.

Thanks
Les
I recommend checking out ADVRider. Seems most KLR action is in the 'Thumper' forum:

cycle racks

I Have both the rear and front racks from these folks on my tw200 Yamaha.
If it hasn't already been done, you ought to consider doing the "doohickey". http://klrworld.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=144
Happy trails out of Boise ID....they have lots of adv bike stuff and the best bags period........
Happy trails, touratech, SW motech, Wolfman tank bags. I've had a few klr's plus a DR and 4 BMW GS's. KLR's get a new seat, new aluminum bars (renthal 666 desert bars)and gel grips, happy trails skid plate, foot pegs, progressive springs, stainless front brake line and galfer pads, set of Dunlop 606's and a Wolfman tankbag right from the start.

If buying used, find one with as many of these things already done as possible. Usually adds very little to resale value but cost thousands if you have to do it.
So how do you know if you have to replace the doohickey? I have about 5500 hundred on my 09. I bought it with 4800 miles.

So far all I have done, is new tires and a battery tender.

If it hasn't had the doohickey done I recommend you do it. It may not fail but if it does it's a disaster. Do some searching about it and you'll see what I mean. There's probably some video's on youtube about it.
An 09 apparently has a better stock doohickey than the old ones.
