Anyone know about this engine? Looking at a work van that has 140,000 on it.
I've had two trucks with the 4.8L, an '02 that I put about 100k on, and an '07 I put 90K on. No problems, ran good and did everything I asked which was mostly commuting and occasionally towing a utility trailer.
I had an 06 with that motor but got rid of it at 100K. Only issue I ever had was a check engine light that ended up being some sensor cheap fix.
We got an '07, it now has 180k on it. Great little motor. When we got it there was about 150k on it. I just had a throttle body replaced, 185$.
