Who makes a good rebuild kit and converter for dodge diesel transmissions? Second gear went out at 110,000 on my 06.

Jeff Garmon has some very good torque converters if you're looking for stout.

Dropped the pan the other day on this transmission and didn't find anything out of the ordinary in it. No burnt oil, minimal fillings clinging to the magnet one would normally find at 110,000 miles. Dropped the valve body and the 2nd gear band linkage fell out. There is an external adjustment for it so I put the band back together and adjusted it and the reverse band. Going to put it back together and cross my fingers.

Just had the 48re in my 07 5.9 diesel rebuilt. it died at under 58K. Torque converter was shot, Second gear band was shot. Good luck.

Put every thing back together and it works fine, shifts right up through. Hopefully this buys me 20 or so thousand miles before I have to rebuild it.
