I am considering buying a canvas wall tent from The Wall Tent Shop in Idaho.

They carry several differant brands. I am looking at the Wilderness 12 X 14. It comes with storm flap on the door, rear window or rear door, stove pipe opening, 10 oz canvas, lot of reinforcement in proper areas, stakes, rope, and tent bag.

Price is $475.00. Pretty low compared to all the recomended brands.

Does anyone own one? I called the owner, he said he has sold over 400 or 500 of them and almost zero complaints. Claims to save money by buying in volume.
Check out the "Magnum" series from Western Wall Tents, also located in Idaho. Whatever you do, make sure it's treated for mildew, fire, etc.

Also be sure your get 5 foot walls, not 4 foot walls...I like 12 0z. and your spot on with a 12x14, the perfect size to live in and still be able to pack it and set it up without getting a hernia! smile smile

Today they also have some very light weight material that is as good as the 12 oz. canvas that I have always used..I had a fellow show me his tent made out of this stuff and if I every buy another one it will be that material, its tough light as silk and the interior of the tent is very bright..Its also fire proof and I have seen a number of tents burn in my life. Might be worth looking into.

If it's 10 oz. natural canvas don't buy it. It's not very waterproof, mildew resistant, and doesn't last long. Lots of outfitters buy them because they're cheap and the way they treat stuff it wouldn't last anyway. I'd look for 12 oz. Sunforger or something similar.

The canvas is 10 oz. Marine Grade treated for waterproofing and mildew.

They are located in Moscow, Idaho. www.walltentshop.com

In that case it's a good deal if it has five foot sidewalls, good door flaps that seal, and sod cloth on the bottom.
