-I have been loading the Accubond and TSX in my 9.3x62 for awhile at the velocities mentioned by John the BC of .361 was not the best so when I saw a new listing for the TTSX I phoned Barnes and the tech. told me it had a BC very close to the TSX due to bullet length issues and it showed a pic of a blunt plastic tip I tole the tech. this did not make sense just keep the TSX
-today I go to the Barnes sight and it shows a typical plastic tip picture and a BC of .440 which makes sense I hope this is the correct info. should be a do all bullet for any range

I'd like to think the tech misinformed you. I've only bought one box of them - they are a little longer than the Accubond and Partition:

I like to dink around with new stuff about as well as the next guy. Still, it's hard to imagine that any 250 grain 9.3 bullet will shoot better or deliver better terminal performance than the 250 AB at 9.3x62 and/or 9.3x74R velocities. Please keep us posted on your results.

That ttsx looks the goods.

However is it just me or would a 250 grain ballistic tip be great for deer and other critters that don't require such tough bullets. Also there isn't a cheap 250grainer for general fluffing around at the range.

the speer 270 grainer is pretty cheap.

Any idea how well these 250g 9.3 TTSX bullets expand @ 2000 fps? Are you able to get them going at 2650ish or do you have to sacrifice some speed to less powder capacity due to their length?

I would really like to see a 232g partition to use in a 9.3x62. Something to optimize bullet weight without displacing powder volume. Design it similar to the 210g .338 partition with the partition farther forward for higher weight retention. Norma makes some lighter bullets in the 232g category but they are expensive and rather difficult to find.

I haven't shot anything with the TTSX yet, but have a sample of one Mule deer with a 250 TSX. It was a chip shot at less than 50 yds so I was probably 2500+ fps. Ran maybe 20', caliber size entrance, quarter size exit, blood running out the exit like someone turned on a faucet. I haven't chrono'd any of my 9.3x62 loads but I don't think the TTSX sits that much deeper that it would affect velocities much, if at all. The loaded round I showed in the above pic has the bullet seated to just cover the lower band with two grooves exposed and it just fits my Ruger African magazine. My CZ has a longer mag box and I can seat it out further in that one. Both rifles have ample throats to allow seating the bullets as long as the magazine will allow.

I'll try and get a couple of pics showing how far the bases protrude below the neck.

Hmmm... consulting the CIP schematic for the cartridge (assuming that is what Norma has posted on their cartridge info website...) assuming a COAL of 3.34 (longer than CIP btw), a 1.2 length Partition would be dimensionally ideal. If the 286g Partition is 1.375 in length then dropping 36 grains of weight might make a 250g dimensionally ideal. If the BC scales decently... .450 BC maybe? .425 worst case? Design it to retain 60% of its weight and it sounds like a winner to me.

One would have to assume that Accubond simply had the higher BLING! factor or higher profit margin rather than another new partition.

Getting 2350fps with sub MOA from my 20" barreled Sako. Sighted 1.5 in high at 100yds anyone have the data or a calculator that would tell me expected drop at 200? 300?

G1 BC .44 according to Barnes site, assuming sight line 1.75" above bore line, sighted 1.5" high at 100 yards

Playing with that in the basic Hornady online calculator suggests you'll be right on at 160 yards, about 2.6" low at 200 and 15.7" low at 300.

Shooters pro shop has 250E-tips at $19.95 per box of 50 right now. Pretty cheap and will see how they shoot in my rifle. BC 494 . For those looking Midway has 250 Accubonds on sale now.
