Yes.

150 BT is another real good choice out of the 7saum..

I have been shooting a 280 for the past 5 years with 140 gr. accubonds and killed big muledeer and elk with them. They go nowhere. Its a great bullet.

With the velocity of the 7 SAUM, I'd personally prefer a 150 grain Partition. JMO, though.

no issues at all. just the damn things kill and I have to spend half a day or more hauling meat out of the hills.

Small sample size, but we used one at 360 yards from my 14 year old's 7-08 last winter. Bullet went in making a hole about the size of a dime, left an exit that was about silver dollar "ish". She went down fast. Probably about four steps and down she went.

Buddy of mine shot an Oryx with one about a month ago. He said it did not exit on Broadside shot at about 275 yards as I recall.

I've got a Model 7 in SAUM. I've tried several bullets on big feral hogs here at the Ranch, and the 150 Partition will exit end to end length wise on a big boar at 300 yards. Personally, I prefer an entrance & exit wound on big body animals. And I can't tell any difference in recoil between a 140 grain bullet vs a 150 grain one.
Again, JMO, for whatever it's worth.

Well it may not be the exact same,but, my son has killed 3 elk with his 270 wsm using the 140 and 130 accubonds. All dead, no problems. We chose them to shoot at deer and elk without changing. Worked like a charm.

Thanks for the input��..I have used the 140 Accubond in a different SAUM for deer without complaint, just wasn't sure about using them on elk��been wanting to try the 140 TTSX too, so�...I think I'll try both and let the rifle decide which one it likes.

I sure hope they will work. After many years of using a 220 gr RN in my .06, my shoulder is so bad,I can't do the recoil. I went out to shoot my ML a week ago and I'm still paying for it. Looks like next elk season with a rifle is a 6.5 Swede with a 129 gr Accubond. Then ditto on pronghorn and late deer season.

I hunt elk with a 7SAUM and so does one of the younger guys in my group. When he was a kid I downloaded Hornady 139gr Interlocks for him and he killed 3-4 elk with no problems so I really don't see why the 140 Accubond would be any different. I think that the idea of the Barnes 120gr TTX is a good one. You should be able to find an accurate and really mild recoiling load that would push the TTSX to 3100 fps with no trouble. That should be all you would need and then some...

Yes sir, the 140 AB from my 7-08AI at 3000 kills just fine. Get exit with it too. MY last elk was at a lasered 300yds, hit a rib going in and one going out, it went about 40 yds and DRT.
Recoil is very manageable and accuracy is sub MOA.

Nope...no way will a 140 grain Accubond kill an elk, much less a big bull. This is my buddy's bull he killed in 2011 on our elk hunt. I handloaded his ammo for him. Nosler 140 grain accubond. 340+ class bull here...Put it in the right spot and they drop from what I see.
