My best - 11/22/14
Drew a late season muzzleloader tag this year. Between guiding and getting domesticated I didn't get to scout the way i would have liked. With this in mind, i was determined to just have fun, learn some new country and hopefully find a decent bull. My buddy, Brown bear guide extraordinare, Zack Shrum was able to sneak off for a few days and help me. We had 3.5 days to get it done! We started finding bulls but nothing that tripped our trigger, but were starting to figure them out. At 7:30 on the third morning I spotted this bull. Another buddy, forum member metal2meat, was with us that morning. Jeff(metal) stayed on the glass while we made a move. We had to back out due to swirling winds and wait. A bear moved thru the canyon and had them on their feet and very alert. We slowly closed the distance. Finally at 4:45 in the afternoon, i made the shot. One more finisher and it was done. Two surprise devil tines made him an 8x8. We accomplished everything we had set out to! Had fun, learned some new country and were rewarded with a great bull!!
