Home

My son just missed a bull with his bow, and we are trying to analyze what could have been different. A single twig makes the difference of a lost arrow or a bull on the ground. Coming out we have this to look at. Kind of makes you wish you were back home watching football...

You must have pulled a tag in a unit on the Wyoming border.

Theres nothing that pretty in Montana.

No one has any reason to come here if they want to see stuff like that.... whistle
Montana elk hunt with scenery like that...hmmm.....
Blood, sweat, tears, and frustration for eight days....but day nine made it all worth it and then some.

And, of course, grouse...
Beautiful country...
All the fu cking Indian wannabees......
I was in the Sierra Madres on the wyoming Colorado border for a couple of days last week. We had bulls all around in the mornings and afternoons, freely bugling their arses off. We spent 26 hours in the woods in two days.......
Problem was we were surveying a plot of land for the state and not elk hunting. I found it hard to pay much attention to working.....

Good thing he's dead, I don't know how long he could pack a rack like that around without breaking his neck.

Congrats!!

You've got a picture of Pat's hand in your shower?

David

It looks more like a tree trunk than an elk rack!

Awesome job!!!
Never have I seen anything like that! Yowza!
Just a teaser aren't ya?!

It doesn't weaken from the H1 up....

Just crunched for time to do a decent write up. I've got a few pretty good field pics...
I'm impatiently waiting.

Nice bull.

That must be downstream from the nuclear power plant cause that thing is mutant.
I wouldn't get too close, it should be disposed of, I'll send an address where to get rid of it.
Best hijacked thread in a long time.

Hold on. I was given to believe that Shrapnel does not do failure. Shrapnels friends do failure on a grand scale, so that kind o fbalances the scales a bit.

Isn't this Scenarshooter the guy who is forever shooting oversize stuff? I don't think I like him.
More on topic though, I put up with bulls within 20 yards but unable to draw or move without getting busted, 2 bull elk and 1 bull moose wandering around in the open with no way to get into bow range and guys scouting for the rifle season driving trucks and quads into my setup. That was just in the last week.
That is an epic elk. Scenarshooter flings an arrow and brings home a bull worthy of a lifetime of persuit, yet it takes him 9 days!

Many are called, but few are chosen. Pat is pursuing the purest form of raw talents given to him, and I am glad that I get to be but a spectator! Wow!
Have to put up with high temps during this bow season
