Before I make this post, I want to thank Rick Bin for sending me a contract to advertise our TV show and our YouTube channel on the Deer Hunting, Elk Hunting, and General Hunting forums of the Campfire. A really good audience in those forums who I hope will like having our content available for free.

Since so many people are “Cutting the Cord” we are providing all our content to those who do not have a cable or satellite package. We have produced some YouTube exclusive episodes for this year and we are making all of our TV episodes available after they premiere on TV.

This hunt is a Central Montana rifle elk hunt that we filmed last year. I posted a quick summary of the hunt here on the Campfire at this link - https://www.24hourcampfire.com/ubbth...ind_squirrel_theory_at_play#Post10621024

If you want to watch this episode on our YouTube channel, here is the link -

[Linked Image]

In addition to the episode itself, we are producing a lot of other pieces of “hub content” that will answer many of the most common questions that usually come when we air an episode.

>>>----> Gutless Elk method for quartering an elk in the field – https://youtu.be/Ny5z3kJWbn8

>>>----> Rifle/Scope/Ammo - https://youtu.be/S_byQ5MoUBU

>>>----> Basic map reading skills - https://youtu.be/PBjM4Xoe1Wg

>>>----> Clothing we used - https://youtu.be/dPYOBYkktJA

>>>----> Choosing an elk caliber - https://youtu.be/Cfd3XkHDaDA

>>>----> Basic gear in my pack - https://youtu.be/dbbevyob1zg

>>>----> Optics and cameras - https://youtu.be/xS21kQjWC6Q

Also, we have loaded our new season of content on the VHX download platform where you can download the entire season to your phone, tablet, or computer. In addition to the normal TV episodes, you will get the YouTube exclusive episodes (this MT Elk hunt and an AK Bear hunt) and the new Gutless Method video we did on an elk (27 minutes long). Figured some might want the gutless method video to have with them while out in the field, if they have never done that before. You can buy the entire series in advance at this link - http://randynewberg.vhx.tv/

Hope you like it. Since this YouTube effort is a very important experiment for us, we are interested in comments on the style and the distribution channels we are using to promote and view it. Thanks for all the support.

Lastly, if you like having the content available on YouTube, and if you have hunting friends who would like high production content for free, please ask them to subscribe to Subscribe to our YouTube Channel (it's free) - https://goo.gl/nXo5jd

I can't believe you didn't pass on that bull; he would have been even bigger next year. grin

Thanks for the heads up. I've enjoyed watching your shows on the tube. One of just a couple that I'll watch..
Great show. I really enjoyed it.
Randy

I like your shows.
Posted By: bwinters Re: Montana Elk Hunt episode - 07/10/16
Thanks Randy. You're show is certainly one of the best hunting shows ever. Keep doing it the way you do it.
Posted By: Waygoner Re: Montana Elk Hunt episode - 07/12/16
I just discovered your youtube channel and have watched most of your shows. Good stuff. Thanks for promoting DIY and supporting public land access.
Posted By: Ralphie Re: Montana Elk Hunt episode - 07/12/16
I like the show, one of the best. I watch them on the youtube channel. We don't have normal tv.

Thanks for making a good show that doesn't have a bunch of rock or rap music or trying to act like a poet or philosopher.
Randy, really enjoy the Youtube episodes and have watched most of them.

Really like the ones when you hunt antelope, watched all those several times - looking forward to some new ones!!

Randy,

Thanks for great videos, and as someone who is currently overseas I look forward to using the information you have imparted when I return.

Thank you also for promoting DIY on public land and our responsibility
to keep those lands public.

Did you ever find out if those guys were trespassing?

Thanks for the comments guys. Glad you liked it.

For the favor of your comments, and any comments that come after, at the end of July, we will pick one of you from this thread on the Campfire and give a coupon for a free download of the entire season.

Thanks for watching. We have two really cool elk hunts coming to YouTube next month.
Best hunting show out there

Randy,

Watched a few of your hunt videos. Loved them very much and I like how you think and go about your business.

Great job all around.
I watched your "Elk rifle cartridges" and was pleased to hear your support of the 7mm-08. My dad used a 7mm-08 last year to take the biggest elk of his life (so far!). My Accubond handloads for him closely approximate Nosler Custom factory loads.

I'm 2 for 2 on one shot kills on bulls using a 7mm-08, but loaded with 140 Partitions instead of Accubonds. It's where you hit 'em that counts.

Way do go:

- about the hunt,

- about the format,

- about adopting new media,

- about everything.

To busy hunting right now, myself, I know, you will understand, but promise to check your stuff out further and am considereing the series.

Kudos.
The teasers are killers, though.

Randy keep up the work, your stuff is top notch.

No. Landowner was not home, though it is leased to an outfitter. I got in touch with the neighbor's wife. Then husband called later that day. By the time he could get over to look, those guys had got out of there.

I just want to say how much you have changed my life. I used to live under the interstate and survive off the litter thrown at me when I was at Walmart with a cardboard sign.

That was until I was at Vann's TV and Appliance and was watching your show on the big screen. I have never been so motivated to change my life. I went to school, got a Rhodes Scholarship and eventually finished my doctorate in Human Resources and Social Internal Structural Engineering at Harvard.

After nearly 15 years in the Mission field with Mother Theresa, I found my real purpose here on earth. I have since been involved in all sorts of humanitarian endeavors to help the poor and needy find their purpose for life as well and have seen hundreds leave miserable lives and finally get direction to improve themselves and the world around them.

All I can say is Thank you Randy, you have changed my life...

Well done Randy. I always enjoy watching but I don't know that I've ever said much. That was a beautiful bull. My public land pizzers never have turned out that good.

I really want to hear that the trespassers were ticketed! Did you ever find anything out?

Randy-

I love what you're doing! Keep up the great work.

If Howa ever asks you to name one person you convinced to try out a Howa handshake for himself...send them my name.

You are entirely responsible for me looking into the company, finding the Howa Alpine light and then buying one. It's my go-to coyote rifle in 6.5 Creedmoor.

Keep on keeping on. Truly a beautiful elk.

He didn't graduate from Oxford but he won the scholarship.

Rhodes Scholar
Upon graduation, he won a Rhodes Scholarship to University College, Oxford where he studied Philosophy, Politics and Economics, though because he had switched programs and had left early for Yale University, he did not receive a degree there.[6][14][15] He developed an interest in rugby union, playing at Oxford[16] and later for the Little Rock Rugby club in Arkansas.[citation needed]

Awesome show's Randy. Keep up the good work and thanks for posting your stuff so we can watch it. Your videos are very informative.

Thanks Randy,

I just found this thread and now that I did,

I can foresee many hours wasted watching even more you tube videos! As If I don't end up spending too much time on this thing already.

At least yours are interesting and contain useful information.

Geno

PS, very nice public land hunt and bull. Glad it worked out.

PPS. Ooh, Ooh, pick me, pick me. I'm just a lowly working person, slaving life away to support retired guys like the illustrious Ingwe. I need something good to happen to me. Pick me, pick me. grin
Thanks for the links, good footage and hunts
Glad the wrecker came along and put the train back on.

Randy,
Love the TV show, I was amazed at the cost of a show when you broke it down a couple a few weeks ago, I'm subscribed to the YT vid channel. But I get the most from the podcast.

Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Be Safe,

Thank goodness there are at least a few hunting shows like Randy's. Thank you!

I echo GregW's comments. I love the content of your shows, and especially how you go about it, without all the schizophrenic outbursts after you kill something and all.

Keep up the good work.

BigFin;
Top of the morning to you sir, I trust this finds you well.

Thanks so much for making the very fine videos available on youtube as it's the only source for me personally as far as hunt videos goes.

I've absolutely subscribed to your channel and have been pleased to put a "thumbs up" on every one watched so far.

Your "elk cartridge" one was especially good stuff I thought. Very well articulated reasoning and a coherent delivery of same. Well done sir.

Thanks again and all the best to you folks this summer.

Thanks. Glad to read the kind comments on what we are trying to produce, even with some failures and unfilled tags along the way.

For others interested in the "elk cartridge" clip you refer to, here is a link. I preface this with the understanding that discussions of cartridges, calibers, and bullets are very much a discussion of opinions formed from personal experiences, with no absolute right/wrong.

Some of the best, realistic hunting episodes on the web, Randy.

Great to see that you are getting it done with a 308 and emphasizing placement and ethical shots.

Randy, I just wanted to say thank you for the gift.

I was picked to receive a gift Randy gave away. Randy used random number generator to pick from those who commented on this thread. I was the lucky winner.

I wanted to say it publicly, thank you.

Wishing you the best.
