Later today, after work. Heading out for our first go-round hunting elk, anyone in GMU 43 feel free to look us up. We should be staying in the KOA in Carbondale, in a silverish GMC crewcab, white trailer and tent.

I-80 thru Nebraska is worse.

My crew and I will be leaving the Philadelphia area at 6AM tomorrow. We head Rt. 70 through Kansas, never had an issue. Heading to St. Louis by tomorrow evening. Thursday morning we depart St. Louis at 6AM, pass through Canon City around dinner and into Cotopaxi before too late.

Friday I'll be fishing the Arkansas and Saturday morning we'll be on the hunt. All 3 of us drew Bull and Buck tags.

When driving through Nebraska on I80 Ole's biggame steakhouse is a must stop..

Coming back from a youth trip to NM and up to Pikes Peak in the mid 70s we spent a night in Salinas. We NC boys found the local girls to be quite welcoming. None of us much cared how our driver felt.

just don't pinch Lena the waitress on the ass, as she walks by.... And whatever you do, don't complain about Sven's cooking.

Between Virginia and Colorado, Kansas is my favorite part of the drive. Different strokes for different folks.

Wife and I will go out to KS on occasion and just drive around for a week. The Flint Hills region is some of the prettiest grasslands I've ever seen.

If you're heading West on 70, stop and top the truck off in Salina and then again in Colby - whether you need it or not.

Lena was scheduled for the "complete makeover" in Trinidad.

Huntsman tried to pull a Trump and got a handful of "Surprise, surprise, surprise, Gomer!!"

Concur. I've timed my last two adventures through there to coincide with the sunrise.

The Flint Hills ain't the part of KS being talked about. That area has merit. West of that, not so much.

And, yeah, gassing up in those two spots is a very good idea.

I make my living off of grass, just not the kind you have in Colorado...

That may be true, but it just ain't right when you say you get excited every time you see Timothy.
