Trying to become a 7 pt.

I recognize most of these critters.

Couple more regulars - 2 bears and a Mountain Lion didn't put in an appearance this month.

The elk look fat and happy, the bear not so much.

Pretty sure that little bear's momma is a round shaped brown sow that comes through there from time to time.
They used to come through just a few minutes apart and I think this is that little cinnamon bear's first season on it's own.
Momma can pull some pretty good sized boulders out of the hillside when she is grubbing.
That would get me excited!

OTC archery tag? Hunt soon if so!
Couple more.

Nice elk.

I probably won't get another photo of elk at that location this year. They will all disappear a couple of weeks before first rifle season.
This is not one of their pressure hideouts.
Kind of similar to what Hesp as posting about his place.
For the rest of 2018 year I'll only get pics of lions and bears.
Elk will be back about New Years.
That 6x7 has some great eye guards.
Nice visitor, is that on the west or east side of the valley?
Elevation?
I was kind of curious mostly about the lions, had not ever heard any discussion about lions, but am not in the area near as often as I once was lucky enough to be.

Gonna be in the SW corner of the valley shortly fishing rather that hunting. hope a MZLDR hunter don't shoot me.

Like the deer here we may see them in the yard but not from September til sometime next spring

That is not the San Luis Valley. It is in the Wet Mountains. About 7K. Plenty of lions there.

Speaking of kitties the big one became a pest. My wife got upset that every time she walked out the back door it was drinking out of the bird bath. I would holler at it from 10ft away & it would amble off slowly. Didn't want to hurt it just wanted it to stay away from the house & stop scarring my wife. [Linked Image]
This bobcat mama was born in the spring of 2006 & has never left. Hangs around the house all the time. Here she lays on the back porch. [Linked Image]
Idon't have many bears , just one every now & then. This one is
about two axe handles across the butt.[Linked Image]
And of course there is Rocky. What i I have hanging around with horns is to pitiful to show so will let it go at that..Hesperus, Colorado
That elk is great! What a pleasant set of pictures, pet Bobcat too.
Great pictures! You are blessed to have such animals having around.
Lots of critters out the back door. Nothing to complain about there. You’ve got some neat shots. 😀
lucky man!!!
Hey Alamosa. Love your bull elk photo. No elk on my place at this time. Lots of dead grass though.
Last summer little bear was very small.

Mom is not small.
