A friend has an AR .308 rifle (don't know the brand but it's not a piston style) and is getting started reloading. He plans to load 168gr bullets. If anyone has loads to share we would appreciate them. I can hook him up with IMR4895 and Varget powder. I load for my M-4 with no problems but have no experience with AR-10s. Thanks in advance.
I just checked Hodgdon's website and the list data for those powders with 168 bullets. Just make sure you back off 5% if using military brass because it's thicker and has slightly less capacity.

I loaded one up with 45gr Varget in mil brass, like Hodgdon says. It was a max load.
I'd use Varget and anywhere from 43.5-45gr. If you can't make an accurate load from that you have problems elsewhere.
Thank you for the replies.
I shoot rl15 with 45 grns in my 10 with 168
TAC is a good powder as well
I've been running pp2000mr in mine with a 175g cc. I've been getting good accuracy and velocity from my 16" barrel.
