For you guys that reload for your AR 223, what brand dies do you use ?
Lee decapping and body dies, Lee collet neck sizing die, Forster Benchrest seating die
RCBS X-Dies. I hate trimming brass.
I'm told they don't produce sub-moa ammo, but my guns do shoot as well as I can anymore.
carbide still needs lube in bottleneck rounds.
Much as I can Redding has been better than all the rest.
I hate it when I can only find what I need in Lee...
I like Redding the best but any standard FL sizing die will work. Same goes for the seating die.
RCBS and Lee but all my new dies are Redding.
For AR's RCBS for FL sizing, Forster seater, very, very LIGHT crimp with a Lee collet crimp die.
For bolt guns, Lee collet nick sizer, Redding body dies, Forster seaters.
MM
Redding. Period
Blessings,
Steve
1) Forster
2) Redding
3) Whatever's cheap except Lee
I have a set of Lyman 223 dies. They work so I'll use them, but if I were to buy a new set, they'd be Lee's.
Redding is my choice. Hard to top.
Dillon, in a Dillon press. If you have a lot of 5gal buckets full of 5.56 brass sitting around, buy the carbide ones.
I just got a set of Lee, so far they are working great. Then again, all my dies are ether Dillon or Lee.
One dedicated .223 progressive is loaded up with Lee
Our second dedicated .223 progressive is Hornady
Single stage multi is 100% Hornady dies
I buy dies once......either Redding or Forster......
or a combination of both
