I just bought a Savage Scout 11 and was wondering if anyone here has given it a good test? I also plan to hand load for it, if anyone had load data I would appreciate the help.
Thanks, Rick
I wanted one, but I am impatient and impulsive so I got a Ruger GSR. I am using 45 or 46 grains of RL 15 and 150 grain Ballistic Tips.

I love the scout rifles, but guys on the bench next to it, not so much.

You dodged the bullet. The Ruger is vastly superior. You're load is mine to a tee. 45.6gr RL15 IIRC.

I had an early Savage Scout and it went down the road. Mags were always an issue. Some didn't feed, wouldn't lock, wouldn't unlock. New ones had to be "fitted".
Woodson and I took it to the range today. It's an amazing rifle and I am completely happy the complete package. We zeroed it in at 40 yards and shot a 1.12 in group with the peep sight. Factory Winchester ammo. Then we shot 20 clays at 100 yards without one miss. I have a Burris 3x12 pistol scoop that I'm going to put on just to see what kind of groups I can print with it.
