i agree, but i already own the scope. i may sell it, or order a CDS for it.

I also would recommend a light (surefire x300U). I would go with a different trigger, probably a Geissele or LaRue. Other than that it sounds like a good setup.

Look at the Way of the Gun Proctor sling, its lighter and more practical than the two magpul slings I have. Also SSA-E is a good trigger.

A Magpul ACS might be worthwhile, storage for batteries & such.

Like the micro sights.

My local gun guy smoothed up the stock trigger on my Spikes Tactical M4gery. Works fine. I use an EOTech sight, Magpul BUIS, a single point sling, tritium front sight, and have a Surefire X300 light. I load the Winchester 64 grain SP for HD purposes.
I seriously doubt I will be heading off to man the barricades, but for a HD weapon, it will do the job.

I'd skip the Timney trigger, I much prefer the Geissele G2S.
Second the Proctor sling and prefer the Streamlight SLR1HL 600 lumen light over the Surefire.

I have scoped AR's and a red dot on one but lately I've been using a Colt 6720 with just a DD A1.5 rear sight. It's so simple and light weight, it seems to jump out of the safe every time the door opens up.

Keep it light and simple.

Be careful with that monkey'd trigger... ARS are not the type to mess with. Though depending on what he did it may be fine for its life. Folks can mess them up really quickly.

And for 62 bucks generally on sale, the RRA varmint, it makes NO sense dollars or common to monkey with an AR trigger, even on a budget. Not on a budget you get even more choices....

I think I am headed towards the A 1.5 myself, still have not put my OEM together yet. I like the idea of either a carry handle or a non flipping sight for this one.

the rifle had the Timney in it when i bought it. i like it, as long as it's durable. i have a Geiselle (still in the package), but it may not be the one i want. i bought it and haven't tried it, yet

I don't think there are any bad Geiselle's........some are just better suited to some purposes than others.

For a non-precision type rifle either the G2S or the SSA are more than adequate.

Some folks like the single stage triggers and some don't. I don't know what the timney is set at but for a HD gun 3.5 pounds might be light, but then not so light for a varmint gun. I use SSA-E's and I have one RRA and one G2S, the SSA-E's are pretty light themselves, the G2S might be better for an all purpose gun.

What was their logic for the SSA over the G2S other than they sell the SSA for more money?

Good question since the SSA and the G2S have identical pull weight. Save some $ and go with the G2S.

The SSA is individually tested where the G2S is batch tested I believe. Other than that they are the same trigger.

I use the G2S in all of mine or at least I will once they have another sale.
