One of my hunting AR's has a horrible long heavy trigger and I'd like to replace it with something better.
I've googled triggers and read sales pitches and reviews and all of them get glowing reviews from various writers but I don't really know how unbiased they are.
So, Has anyone used an after market trigger that is worth the considerable price tag?
We've done this at least a dozen times this year.
Pardon me then I didn't find the threads.
Just buy a Geissele and be done with it.
i am happy with my CMC triggers.
Here's a good article if you are interested in single stage cartridge triggers.
http://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/2016/04/jeremy-s/ar-15-drop-in-trigger-roundup/I had no idea there were so many single stage cartridge triggers!
Just know that you don't need the most expensive to make a significant difference, imho. Know also, that they go on sale fairly often, and you can often save $20+ if you get in on a decent sale. You'll also need to decide if you want two state or single stage. I have both and like both, but they are different. A good trigger is critical for me, and a good enough one usually meets my needs, too.
Just buy a Geissele and be done with it.
Yep. Probably a Labor Day sale soon.
The SSA-E come up on reasonable sales from time to time.. .you will not be dissapointed
A few retailers had them for $160ish this year
For a hunting gun a Geissele G2S would serve very well. For a little less a Rock River Varmint can be had. As previously mentioned look for sales coming up; best will be Black Friday.
Look at the LaRue MBT also. Great feeling trigger.
ALG is a great hunting trigger at a great price. Comes with 2 sets of springs now. You can also buy JP 3.5 lb. springs to use with it. No need to spend more IMO for a hunting trigger. It is worlds better than any trigger my ARs came with....
A friend gifted me with this trigger from Fat Boy Tactical this morning.
Blue Trigger Holy crap is it nice! No creep and a clean break. I don't have a trigger pull scale but I have no trouble believing their claim of 3.5 pounds.
I believe it's a re-branded Rise Armament trigger but that's a pure wild ass guess. I doubt it would match up with a Geissele but I'm happy with it so far.
https://www.rockriverarms.com/index...&CFID=575172565&CFTOKEN=48964312use the 18% off promo and get the varmint trigger for $98. I actually scored a couple a while back for $62 when they were discounted more.
if you are a trigger snob and I am, get a geisselle. if you want a trigger that is 90% of the absolute best trigger geisslle has. this is your huckleberry. unless you are trying to get the last ounce of accuracy from your AR this trigger will do it.
