I am pretty new to ARs, but I came across a Black Rain AR in 300 Blackout.

It looked good and felt good, but I had never heard of it. I thought maybe someone here has had some experience.

Thanks. donsm70

I've heard lots of bad things. No first hand experience due to that.

Same here; look to be pretty over-priced as well, boutique stuff.

I've handled them & they seem to be decently finished buy heavy; just a fair amount of bad chatter.

Plenty of decent stuff out there for a fair amount less.

Specifically, what are you looking for or what do you want?

How much do you want to spend?

MM;

Just looking for an AR "fun gun" in 300 Blackout. I can't hunt with it in PA, but I go to TX to hunt hogs every year.

Just something different. No particular budget number.

Just a suggestion, lots of other options.

Build or buy a complete lower of your choice & put a PSA (Palmetto State Armory) or BCM (Bravo Company) complete upper on it.

PSA & Primary Arms have sales on both on a regular basis & both are decent sources.

Anything BCM is top notch.

Doing the above will get you into a completed gun for $1,000-1200, less if you hit the right sale, & it will be a very decent piece.

Don't have the rifle but picked up a new stripped lower in a trade last year. I installed a lower parts kit and dropped in a upper. I have run over 1K thru it to date without issues.

Thanks again guys.

I have a Stag Arms AR 15 in 5.56. I could use that lower on a 300 Blackout upper, I suspect.

Yes, you can. Eazy, peezy in that case.

Stag stuff is good..........they use mostly AR-15 bc, so depending on what's in your lower, you might want to think about a M16 bc as it's a little heavier.

At least that would be my direction for a 300 BO.

My nephew has one in 308, an estranged BIL has a 223/556. They look nice and where rather expensive. That's about all I know.

And a lot of PSA's parts, like the barrel, are made by FN.

I've been pretty impressed with a few different rifle kits from PSA. Not one single bit of trouble and they haven't exactly been babied.
